A few posts ago at the time of Australia being in the Eurovision we focused upon a key Australian children's book, about the urban fairy 'Pearlie', now we can bring you more on Australian children's books.
Australian children's book illustrations are being featured in an exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria. The exhibition looks at the development of the Australian children's book over the last forty years.
The exhibition is called 'Bunyips and Dragons', the Bunyip appears to be a mixture of creatures, but hopefully an Australian reader can enlighten us further
If you can't make it to NGV the website gives a nice range of the key works at http://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/exhibition/bunyips-and-dragons/ where emus, sandy beaches, dragons and bunyip can be seen - well worth a look.
