BBC's 'CBeebies' channel for young children is to remain on television declares the Director General to MPs.
Parents had feared that it was to become part of the BBC's content that the Director General, Lord Hall, was planning to move online as a cost-cutting measure.
This fear led to a petition, citing the benefits to both children in terms of education and entertainment and to parents, it rapidly gained 130,000 signatures and the backing of Mumsnet.
With such pressure Lord Hall used his appearance before MPs to make clear the likes of Mr Tumble, the Teletubbies and Bob the Builder were all safe!
